{create} fall lima bean wreath!

It is officially fall- and even though I am a summer lover- the cooler temperatures feel nice. Since I've moved in to our apartment, I have had a hard enough time decorating, much less decorating for a season, so I wanted to try a little fall decorating. As you know, Holly is the crafty one, so I looked up easy fall wreaths to make. Some looked cute, but really time consuming & way above my level.

 Cute. Simple. And versatile. The original maker spray painted hers many different colors, for all different occasions. But before we get started on how I made my very own, lets debunk a myth. Or at least a Pin. There is one going around saying you can use plumbing tube for a wreath- its cheap, yes, but when I tried to make it into a circle... it looked more like an oval or something that was not a circle. I could have gotten the wrong tube, or cut it too small, or something... but just a heads up that it is not as easy as it seems.

So, here were my supplies:

 You need some sort of base (an old wreath or Styrofoam wreath or I hear a noodle works, but that could be one of those mean Pins again), a hot glue gun, lima beans, & spray paint for later.

Start on one edge & make vertical lines of lima beans. Eventually they will start being diagonal lines, but just keep going. You can fill in the holes later. Try to keep them as close together as you can. At first, mine were a bit more spaced, but I like the close look better.

Have your cute husband help you if you want!

Looks pretty cool all white, but for fall- were going gold!

If you can see the Styrofoam in places, its ok- the spray paint will cover it up.

 Spray paint your wreath- make sure to get a few good coats. Then add a ribbon & hang it up! I think for Christmas, I will just change the ribbon. I like how in my inspiration picture, the ribbon goes around the whole wreath, so perhaps I'll try it that way.

Fall, but not too orange. It could always be better, but for now, I am quite happy with it.
